Some Teutonic Knights decide to expell some "Texas Justice" to a village suspected of heresy. The dead bodies are all piled up, buried, and extremely blessed. A church is erected on the gravesite.
Fast forward to the modern and some meddlin', uh, librarian decides to play "stick my nose where it doesn't belong" and basically awakens whatever was sleepin' and causes all kinds of crazy, spooky stuff to happen.

For those who are unaware, this is third of the "Demons" franchise. However, for those who have seen it, this plays more like a prequel for some reason. It was also one of the films that put Micheal Sovai on the map. (Yeah, you may remember him from "Demons" as well.) Well rather than acting, he direc...scratch that, he has a role in this one as well.
Sovai/Argento collabo = great right? Not really. Yeah you get some really wicked camerawork and visually stunning sets, yadda yadda. However, the films starts out really well, however, it doesn't retain any consistancy. It'll be good, then not good. The atmosphere and SFX are well done, in my opinnin. Way too many chracters goin' on at one time, as well. Too much buildup and no delivery towards the latter, doesn't help either. The ending itself is way too predictable. On top of that, this damn movie had the audacity to cheat!
That's right, yellow flag! Dammnit, if you have a shower scene or even mention a "shower" AND lay on your bed with your clothes half off and don't deliver?! Allow me to scratch some points off fo' ya. A body double?! There's another one. Don't waste my time! Stop trying to be all legit and have pride and crap. Fuck that!
Anyway, there are some phat kills, other than that, I can't really recommend it unless you like Euro-horror or have seen the first two "Demons".

I really didn't see how this movie tied in with the other two Demon movies at all. There was a throwaway scene at the end that made it seem that this area was where the stupid kids in part 1 come to find the mask, but the rest of the movie has very little to do with the franchise.
Oh well. All I really have to add on to the Captain's review is this: train death. I almost lost a kidney I was laughing so hard. I don't want to spoil it, but seeing a person become a bug on a windshield is much, much funnier looking than it sounds.
Other than that scene, the rest is pretty typical "run from the evil things chasing us" fare. Though Lisa divebombing through the window near the beginning caught my ass off guard pretty hard...that was hardcore baby. It's pretty good for a look-see, maybe not necessarily a solid buy.

Evan - "Why not angels laying down some great harp with angels dancing in ectasy?"
Reverend - "The world is the Devil's. The world is the Devil's. In other words, the world identifies itself with the Devil."
Lisa - "I'm gonna draw a shower. Amuse yourself while I'm gone."
