I really didn't remember much about this movie from when I watched it with my wife a couple years ago. After watching it for the second time I remember why, I was probably asleep.
Jumper has a really cool concept. The power to transport to another location instantly, whenever you want. They took this really cool concept and made it, well, boring. The movie drags, with only a few scenes worth paying attention too.
Unfortunately, the acting in this movie is sub par as well. It stars Hayden Christensen, which I found out from our Twitter Live Review is the only reason anybody actually watched the movie. Ok, I get it, so you think he is hot. That doesn't help the fact that he can't act. If you remember him from the Star Wars prequels, he has a hard time portraying a sad/upset person. He ends up looking like a little kid crying for a cookie. He proves in this movie, that he still can't portray that character.
The movie is also lacking witty one liners. The dialog is pretty straight forward, and contains few twists, surprises, or humor. We thrive off of one liners here, and expect at least a little humor in a script. Not with this one.
Overall, this one might be worth a rent, but not a buy. There are a few decent fight/teleporation scenes, and if nothing else, the concept is cool. It leaves you trying to focus on a picture and teleport there.
