Based on a story by Edgar Allen Poe, Dr. Maillard is nutz. In fact, so is everyone in his asylum, cause, well that's where crazy people go. Gaston decides to mozy on by and take a gander at his wonderful "methods" of rehablitation. Along the tour of dungeons, interpretive dance, and pateints acting like chickens, he runs into the doc's allustrious Eugénie and the two take a liking to each other and Gaston finds out the terrible truth behind the asylum.
Best part? It's directed by the guy who directed Alucarda

Surprisingly I found this to be a fun movie. If you have not already noticed from the latter described, there are some familiar names and faces involved in this one. I am not sure as to how accurate it is to Poe's story, however, it's still very much watchable.
The fights in this one make up for the lack of gore considering it is all paired with some of the best fight music you'll ever come across. *Ha!* It can move a bit slow, but ye shall haveth thine fill of 'random' throughout. Skin was not expected, but of course, always well received. (Not to mention that Ellen Sherman is smoking hot; and that's even without the grapes!)Maybe it's just me, but it seemed like all involved were having bunches of fun while making this.
I tip my scales to the lower side of points as unfortunately this is the (I'm very sure heavily) 'American cut' of the film. I imagine the score will be much higher whence we view-eth the original-eth!. Recommended-eth!
